This informs all parent(s) the number of places available in our mainstream & special classes (if any spaces) for the 25/26 School Year.
Please note the opening date for Enrolment applications for the 25/26 School Year is the 6th January 2025.
Applications prior to this date will not be considered.

Our Admission Notice for 2025 / 26 is published below. Enrolment is open from the 6th January 2025. Application Forms may be posted / returned to the school office from the 6th January. Applications submitted prior to the 6th January will not be considered.

Why should you consider enrolling your child in Ballyadams N.S.?
- We provide an inclusive, modern and holistic education to all our pupils. We are a growing school and as we welcome more teachers, SNA'S and pupils to Ballyadams N.S we continue to stay true to our school motto 'Ní neart go cur le chéile' or Together Everyone Achieves More!
- We have two special classes for children with Autism in Ballyadams N.S. We have recently reconfigured both our Autism classrooms, installed a new Sensory Room and developed and extended our Outdoor Soft Play Area for our Autism Classes.
-We are developing our new Sensory Courtyard in the 2024/25 School Year thanks to the generous support of our school community and local support. The Sensory Courtyard will be a haven of calm and tranquility for all children and staff to benefit from in Ballyadams N.S.
-Thanks to our school community we have installed a new Sensory Garden and added an Outdoor Nest Swing for all the children in the school to enjoy and utilize.
-Recent new initiatives include a thriving afterschool Gaeilge Club & we are participating in the Lego League Coding Challenge in the 23/24 School Year.
-Our Senior Classes 3rd - 6th are taking part in the STEM Robotics Coding Programme in conjunction with Laois County Council.
-Our 1st & 2nd Classes are pairing with a local Artist in 2025 as part of the Creative Schools Artist In Residence Schools Excellence Programme.
-We have a thriving School Debate Team. In the last number of months our Debate Team qualified for the All Ireland Primary Debate Semi - Final from over 200 school nationwide and recorded successive Regional Debating Championship victories as champions of Laois, Offaly and North Tipperary in 2022/23 and 2023/24. We are very proud of their achievements. This years 2024/25 Debate Team have successfully progressed to the second round of the competition. This is a positive for all the children in our school.
-We have four mainstream multi grade classes in Ballyadams N.S. Each classroom has been upgraded with state of the art Touchscreen Panels as we utilize digital technologies in our teaching and learning.
-We have increased our Playground Yard space for all our pupils and installed a new stepped entrance to our football pitches.
- Our idyllic rural setting provides the perfect environment in which to learn.
-Our Green fields and ample yard space are treasured assets. We value our space greatly as it allows us to provide ample separation and physical distancing for children and equally allows the children ample room to develop and move freely and happily in their surroundings.
-We have a dedicated Student Council in Ballyadams N.S. We look forward to providing opportunities for pupil voice and meaningful student involvement in school life.
-Ballyadams N.S have installed high speed broadband as part of the Department Of Education's Broadband Connection Plan in October 2020. We look forward to our pupils reaping the benefits of high speed broadband and developing their Digital Capacity! We have recently upgraded our I.T infrastructure and the children will experience digital learning with the new devices since 2021. We have purchased a suite of new I.T equipment and devices which will be used by our pupils to great effect to benefit their learning and assessment opportunities in Ballyadams N.S.
- Ballyadams N.S are at the heart of pupil creativity and innovation. We are currently part of the Creative Clusters Schools Excellence Programme 2021 - 2023. Read all about the initiative here https://www.laoistoday.ie/2021/10/07/three-laois-primary-schools-selected-to-participate-in-a-creative-ireland-programme-initiative/ At present we are exploring learning using Virtual Reality & Augmented Reality devices which the children delight in using to enhance their learning experiences. We hope to build on these experiences and further embed these technologies in teaching an learning in 2023.
- We now use Aladdin Connect for whole school communication. All our families have registered for Aladdin Connect and use the Aladdin Connect App! This has enhanced communication between home and school and allowed for greater engagement with our school community during enforced school closures. It has greatly reduced our consumption of paper as we live to our values as a Green School.
-We are a big fan of all topics S.T.E.M - Science - Technology - Education & Maths. Our classes regularly compete in national competitions and showcase events. We will be competing in the Science Blast Inter Schools competition in 2024.
-Ms Murray and her 3rd & 4th Class were successful in claiming honours in the E.S.B Science Blast Competition in 2020.
- Extra-curricular activities play a huge role in the rounded development of our pupils. We take part in football, hurling/camogie, tag rugby, swimming, cooking classes, choir, drama, debating, RDS Primary Science Fair and film making.
-Our Boys were crowned Cumann Na Mbunscol Division 1 Champions in 2018 and our Girls team qualified for the final. In 2024/25 both our boys & girls teams qualified for their respective CMNB Football Finals in O'Moore Park.
- We have a modern sports hall and several natural pitches for classes to play.
- Ballstoppers - goalposts & new basketball hoops and nets added in recent months.
-We were awarded our 7th Green Flag as part of our Green School Programme under the guidance of Mrs Murray in 2024!
-We were awarded our second Active School Flag in 2023 under the guidance of Ms Malone. This was a wonderful whole school endeavour and we pride ourselves on the maxim, 'Healthy Bodies Healthy Minds'!
- We were awarded our 5th Green Flag for Globalization Diversity Litter & Waste in recent times. We are a proud Green School.
- We have a vibrant and hard-working Parents Council.
- We are a close knit community and take pride in our family spirit throughout the school.
