Why should you consider enrolling your child in Ballyadams N.S.?

- We provide an inclusive, modern and holistic education to all our pupils.

- We will be opening our new class for children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder in Ballyadams for the 2022 School Year.

- Our idyllic rural setting provides the perfect environment in which to learn.

-Our Green fields and ample yard space are treasured assets. We value our space greatly as it allows us to provide ample separation and physical distancing for children and equally allows the children ample room to develop and move freely and happily in their surroundings.

- We have a bright, modern building with each class fully equipped with interactive whiteboards and use of computers.

-Ballyadams N.S have installed high speed broadband as part of the Department Of Education's Broadband Connection Plan in October 2020. We look forward to our pupils reaping the benefits of high speed broadband and developing their Digital Capacity! We have recently upgraded our I.T infrastructure and the children will experience digital learning with the new devices in 2021! We have purchased a suite of new I.T equipment and devices which will be used by our pupils to great effect to benefit their learning and assessment opportunities in Ballyadams N.S.

- Ballyadams N.S are at the heart of pupil creativity and innovation. We are currently part of the Creative Clusters Schools Excellence Programme 2021 - 2023. Read all about the initiative here https://www.laoistoday.ie/2021/10/07/three-laois-primary-schools-selected-to-participate-in-a-creative-ireland-programme-initiative/  At present we are exploring learning using Virtual Reality & Augmented Reality devices which the children delight in using to enhance their learning experiences.

- As part of our Remote Learning Action Plan we have put in place a new whole school learning platform Seesaw. We are using Seesaw for teaching and learning and carry out weekly Zoom Check In's with our pupils. We utilise the Seesaw Whole School Learning Platform from Infants to 6th Class. We believe the learning platform provides the tools to bring the learner and teacher closer together and enrich teaching and learning opportunities for all.

- We have upgraded our Whole School Communication System in 2020. We now use Aladdin Connect for whole school communication. All our families have registered for Aladdin Connect and use the Aladdin Connect App! This has enhanced communication between home and school and allowed for greater engagement with our school community during enforced school closures. It has greatly reduced our consumption of paper as we live to our values as a Green School.

-We have been selected to receive Professional Development Support from the Professional Development Service Digital Education Team for Teachers in 2021 / 22 in our continued efforts towards lifelong learning and professional development.

-We are a big fan of all topics S.T.E.M - Science - Technology - Education & Maths. Our classes regularly compete in national competitions and showcase events.

-Ms Murray and her 3rd & 4th Class were successful in claiming honours in the E.S.B Science Blast Competition in 2020.

- Extra-curricular activities play a huge role in the rounded development of our pupils. We take part in football, hurling/camogie, tag rugby, swimming, cooking classes, choir, drama, debating, RDS Primary Science Fair and film making.

-Our Boys were crowned Cumann Na Mbunscol Division 1 Champions in 2018 and our Girls team qualified for the final.

- We have a modern sports hall and several natural pitches for classes to play.
- Ballstoppers - goalposts & new basketball hoops and nets added in recent months.

-Under the guidance of Ms Malone the school were awarded Active Flag Status in recent times.

- We were awarded our 5th Green Flag for Biodiversity in recent times. We are a proud Green School.
