Christmas 2020 Ballyadams N.S

Below are a sample of images taken from school life in Ballyadams N.S in recent weeks.
It is heartening that the children's enthusiasm and zest for learning and creativity shines brightly during challenging times in the world.
'Sharing' is an original poem composed by the children in Mr Mullooly's Class. Luke in Ms Murphy's Class is pictured with his Athy Community Services Award. Zoom Calls from Fr Dunne on the Feast Day Of The Immaculate Conception, Santa Dash images and a treasure trove of Christmas Art and projects illuminate the halls of Ballyadams N.S and are a testament to the ingenuity of our pupils and their dedicated teachers.

Christmas Performances 2020

We are very proud to bring you a collection of performances the children had incredible fun in preparing and performing. The emphasis was on fun and participation and inviting our parents and families into our school virtually this Christmas time!

Wellbeing Week JoyInJune 2020!

As our school year draws to a close this week we are putting wellbeing to the fore once more. All our Class Teachers will be recommending fun and enjoyable lessons which encourage the children to feel good about themselves and think about themselves in a positive manner. Wellbeing does not just happen but must be woven!

All our pupils and their families are invited to attend our Virtual End Oy Year Mass Wednesday @11am on the Ballyadams Parish facebook site as celebrated by Fr Dunne.

Our pupils may wish to share examples of activities which they like to do at home which offer them a sense of contentment or happiness! Please share with your teachers on Aladdin Connect and we will feature here in our gallery throughout the week!

Green Schools Week & Loving Our Locality! JoyInJune 2020!

Picture
Continuing our theme of JoyInJune this week we are holding a remote Green Schools Week. Each day we will be providing fun activities that celebrate our proud Green School status.
We are lucky to have a wonderful Green Schools Committee in the school who have been extremely active and enterprising throughout the year. They have helped make all the children and adults in Ballyadams N.S aware of our current Green School focus of Globalization - Litter & Waste.
The many actions of the Green School Committee assisted by Ms Burke and all the teachers to date have helped all of us be extra aware to play our part in reducing reusing and recycling.
This week all classes will further embrace the importance and relevance of playing our part in the global fight against litter and waste.

This week all children are encouraged to show pride and love of their locality! It is a wonderful thing to appreciate and take pride and joy in where you come from and where you live.

Well done to all our pupils for their superb pictures, designs, recordings and celebrations of all things Green Schools and Loving Your Locality!

Have a look at the imagination and creativity from the boys and girls throughout Green Schools Loving Locality Week!
Maria in Ms Murray's 3rd Class has composed a superb speech titled, "If I Was A Loraz This Is How I Would Save The World' which can be viewed by clicking the file below. Thank you Maria and you make some wonderful points in reducing use of plastics and spending less time on our screens. Well done and we have much admiration for the beautiful here too.

Halloween Parade October 2019

On Friday the 25th October our boys and girls embraced the Halloween spirit and came to school in a variety of colorful and bone chillingly creative costumes. Due to the heavy rain we were compelled to adapt our Halloween plans. While the Halloween walk did not take place our ghouls, goblins, princesses, fortune tellers, skeletons and multitude of Halloween characters would not be deterred. We hosted a memorable Halloween Parade in Ballyadams N.S. The children marched in all their Halloween finery around our PE Hall where they were warmly received and applauded by parents and visitors on the day. Special word of thanks to all families and children for seizing the Halloween spirit and making the Parade so memorable for the children. Thanks to our Parents Council for providing refreshments and treats to all on the day.
